Just a “FACE” Lift:
Digital Audio Redesigns Subwoofers
Brea,
CA, December 7, 2005 – Digital Audio announces the redesign of
its popular Extended Low Frequency Drivers. Producing deep, low-end
bass frequencies, the 10-inch DA8010X woofer features a new basket design
and will make its debut at the 2006 International CES.
What’s unique about this line of newly-designed subwoofers is
the employment of Digital Audio’s patent pending Forced Air Cooling
Enhanced (FACE) technology. The composite chrome-plated magnet cover
is specially designed to better direct the movement of cool air during
operation. Instead of allowing air to travel in and out and away from
the woofer’s backplate, six ducts redirect outside air to circulate
and cool the woofer’s motor assembly. All in all, Digital Audio’s
FACE technology helps preserve the life of the voice coil and working
life of the woofer.
The dual 4-ohm DA8010X features oversized 200-ounce double-stacked strontium
magnets and is capable of handling up to 700 watts RMS. With a frequency
response ranging from 28Hz to 500Hz, it features a 2-inch 4-layer ASV
voice coil and is compatible for 2-ohm or 8-ohm operation.
In addition to the FACE technology, what’s most noticeable is
the DA8010X’s bold new design. Maintaining the classic Digital
Audio elements of red anodized accents with machined edge trim, the
cast aluminum basket is a shining example of Digital Audio innovation.
The heavy-duty cone is made of spun IMPP material and the 1.5-inch rubber
surround ensure durability during extreme operation.
The DA8010X carries a target retail price of $199.99 and 12- and 15-inch
models are also available. These woofers, along with the entire line
of Digital Audio products will be on display at the 2006 International
CES, Booth 4816 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center,
January 5 – 8. To learn more about Digital Audio products, or
